Im trying to build my skills in composition at the guitar (acoustic) How can I do that?

I want to play like Jimmy Page of lot cuz i was really like White and Black Mountain. So just be cool classic. I have some Thiong I wrote, but most are simply agree bass bass bass bass chord you know Simple Stuff waltz timing. How can I break this cycle on start doing serious stuff on classical guitar sound? Finger picking is mostly what I'm interested, but picks are still fresh for quick tips:) thx

Why do not you see any song with a fingerstyle (or otherwise) that you like and learn to play. Try "Dust in the Wind" is a cliché now, but fingerpicking tabs are all on the Web and not too hard. Once you've done that, consider that the configuration of the finger and try it with different chords. Apply Song tend to you and your agreements. If you do it with enough songs, you'll begin to see the models. You can apply the results in your chord progressions, change a finger or two and make it your own. Doing things as practical tools, which are really good, and you can apply other aspects such as taking a chord progression and add your own melody and lyrics, or take a strumming pattern and change the chord progression. Take a look you want, and change everything. This is basically what Kerry Livgren did when he wrote "Dust In The Wind "It was just up better ways to practice fingerpicking with chord progressions, and he grew into a song.
