What are your views on programming in Pascal?
I originally started programming in Pascal and find it limiting, what you think?
Everyone has already mentioned the change to a language of object-oriented programming so I'll skip this and go directly to the traps. There are still places where you can use Pascal, Fortran, Cobol, etc. We refer to them as legacy applications and there is a real danger of falling into that trap. When the application support legacy ends you may find yourself looking for work when you're behind the power curve. You could gain experience in programming, initially from a legacy application, but do not stay very long in that field!
